The future of Manchester United's talented midfielder Kobbie Mainoo at Old Trafford remains highly uncertain. This could lead to a tough decision come next summer.

Details. According to Caughtoffside, despite ongoing contract negotiations since March last year, both parties have yet to reach an agreement. This increases the likelihood of the midfielder leaving when the summer transfer window opens.

It is claimed there is a real chance that Mainoo could depart if a compromise is not reached. Manchester United is considering selling the midfielder for around £70 million.

Mainoo has struggled to find a consistent position under Ruben Amorim, who has utilized him in various roles this season. The 19-year-old has been deployed as a defensive midfielder, a number 10, and even as a makeshift striker in a game against Crystal Palace earlier this year.

Reminder. It was previously reported that London club Chelsea plans to sign the English midfielder.
