Manchester City are preparing for the departure of Pep Guardiola and have already identified his replacement, though they first needed to resolve the issue with the coach’s former club.

Details: According to Ben Jacobs, Chelsea will indeed receive financial compensation from Manchester City. This means that Enzo Maresca will be able to begin work immediately. The Italian reportedly received a personal recommendation from Pep Guardiola himself.

Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan all approached the coach’s agent, Jorge Mendes, but none of those talks led anywhere. Maresca only wanted to manage Manchester City.

We previously reported that the London club were considering legal action against their Manchester rivals. The dispute was set to escalate if Chelsea failed to receive compensation from Manchester City.

It is worth recalling: Chelsea’s new head coach, Xabi Alonso, has already begun shaping the core of his squad for next season, making it clear which players he is absolutely determined not to let go.
