Manchester City ready to give £100m for midfielder they sold five years ago

Manchester City could make a big deal that is estimated to be worth £100million, all in a bid to bring back their former player.

According to Football Insider, the Citizens are interested in Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, who they also sold to the Birmingham-based club for £14.3 million in the summer of 2019.

The Brazilian centre-back moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2017 from Vasco da Gama for £10million, but almost immediately went on loan to Spanish side Girona, where he played for two years.

But on his return from a two-year loan in Catalonia, he failed to prove his fitness at City and was sold to Aston Villa.

Now, Douglas Luiz is one of the Premier League's most quality midfielders, having scored ten goals and seven assists in 37 games for the Villans this season.
