Manchester City is entering an era of monumental change. Following the confirmed departure of Pep Guardiola, the Citizens are bracing for a major summer overhaul—with former Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca expected to take the helm ahead of the 2026/27 season. Amid the imminent exit of veterans like John Stones and Bernardo Silva, the club’s hierarchy is urgently seeking reinforcements.

Details: According to respected Spanish outlet AS, Manchester City has set its sights on bringing back a former player—Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro. The situation around the 26-year-old Spain international is developing rapidly. Tottenham have already been in talks with the full-back, hoping to extend his contract beyond 2028, but so far the London side has failed to convince him. Manchester City has seized the opportunity.

Reports suggest that the Citizens have already initiated first contact in a bid to secure the transfer before the World Cup kicks off. Both the player and Spurs have been informed of Manchester City’s interest.

Spurs have already set an asking price for potential suitors: any club hoping to sign Porro this summer will need to put up £50 million (just over €57 million). The player himself, currently earning £85,000 a week, would expect a significant salary boost if he moves to the Etihad.

It’s worth noting that this season, the Spanish defender has made 47 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists. Transfermarkt values the player at €40 million.

Reminder: Manchester City has put winger Savinho up for transfer.
