Manchester United now faces serious competition in the race for the young midfielder.

Details: According to TEAMtalk, 23-year-old Nottingham Forest central midfielder Elliot Anderson has emerged as a coveted target for Manchester City.

The report states that City boss Pep Guardiola is personally interested in the transfer, believing the squad needs more quality depth if the club is to compete for top honours.

Manchester United have also been pursuing Elliot Anderson for quite some time, having attempted to secure the transfer last summer without success.

According to sources, Nottingham Forest values Elliot Anderson at between £80 million and £100 million.

Anderson's current contract with Nottingham Forest runs until 2029, while Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €60 million.

Reminder: Guardiola surpasses 2 billion euros in transfer spending at Man City. How much have other managers spent in the same period?
