Manchester City monitoring Porto midfielder Viktor Froholdt

English side Manchester City are showing serious interest in 20-year-old Danish midfielder Viktor Froholdt of Porto.

Details: According to British outlet Sport Witness, citing Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Manchester City scouts were in the stands at the Estádio do Dragão for the headline fixture of the seventh round of the Portuguese league, in which the Dragons defeated Benfica 3-1. The English club's representatives closely monitored the performance of the 20-year-old Dane, who emerged as a key figure in the match.

The Citizens' scouts returned to Porto's home ground just 11 days after the teams' head-to-head clash in the Champions League. In the clásico against Benfica, Froholdt scored the winning goal just three minutes after the visitors had equalized, delivered an impressive all-round display in midfield and was officially named the Man of the Match.

The Danish midfielder, who joined Porto from Copenhagen, is a fundamental part of Francesco Farioli's midfield. Froholdt's current contract with the Portuguese giants runs until June 2030, while the Dragons' management value the highly rated midfielder at around €70 million.
