Managerial shake-up in London! Top candidate to replace Arbeloa named
Fulham’s London hierarchy is closing in on a change of head coach amid a results crisis.
Details: According to British radio station talkSPORT, former Brentford boss Thomas Frank has emerged as the leading candidate to take charge of the Cottagers. The London club’s hierarchy views the Dane as its preferred option should Álvaro Arbeloa be sacked.
The Spanish coach’s future will be decided in the next two matches against Hull City and Coventry City. The club’s hierarchy has given the manager one final chance to turn things around, and any points dropped will trigger an immediate change in the dugout.
Former Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is listed as the second candidate, but Frank’s experience and tactical flexibility are viewed by the club’s management as a more reliable formula for overcoming the crisis.
The Danish coach is currently without a club and is open to returning to active management in London.
It is worth noting that Álvaro Arbeloa took charge of Fulham after a successful spell working within Real Madrid’s system, but has faced immense pressure and a string of defeats in the current campaign.
