Man Utd up Lecce talks for Patrick Dorgu after rejecting initial £28m bid

Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu, despite rejecting an initial £28m bid.

The Italian club valued the player at £33.6m and rejected United's bid, while the club's director of football negotiations, Matt Hargreaves, met with Lecce representatives in Milan.

Dorgu, whose contract with the club expires in 2029, has become a key player in the Lecce first team since making his debut in August 2023. He has been a regular starter this season and even made his debut for Denmark in September, scoring after just 42 seconds.

United have also considered Dorgu, including PSG's Nuno Mendes and Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.
