Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee faced fierce backlash from Manchester City supporters after provoking them following United's dramatic derby victory, reports The Sun.

The Dutch striker ran toward the City fans' section at full time and celebrated his club's win in a deliberately demonstrative manner. This infuriated City fans, who quickly began hurling insults at the United player.

To prevent the situation from escalating further, Manchester United staff intervened and pulled Zirkzee away from the rival fans' section.

The high tensions were understandable, as United managed to secure a stunning comeback victory in the final minutes of the game. After Josko Gvardiol gave City the lead in the first half, United responded with two late goals in the 88th and 90th minutes to turn the match around.

Joshua Zirkzee joined Manchester United in the summer of 2024. So far this season, he has played 22 games for the club, scoring three goals. Previously, the striker represented Bologna in Italy, where he netted 12 goals in 37 matches during the previous campaign.
