Man United Legend Roy Keane Wears Tottenham Sweater to Meet Darts Star
Manchester United legend Roy Keane surprised fans by showing his affection for Tottenham Hotspur, donning a Christmas sweater with the club’s emblem during a meeting with darts star Luke Humphries, The Sun reports.
It’s no secret that the Irishman, despite his illustrious career at United, has been a lifelong fan of Spurs. Keane first admitted his soft spot for the London club two years ago.
"I am a Spurs fan, I played for Man United but Spurs are my team. Just because I played forManchester Uniteddidn't mean I was a fan of the team," Keane once shared.
Keane took his devotion a step further by wearing the Tottenham-themed sweater on the set of The Overlap. The program also featured Humphries, a Leeds United supporter.
During his 12 years at Old Trafford, Keane helped United win every major title, including seven Premier League championships and the 1999 Champions League. Regarded as one of the greatest players in United’s history, he captained the team for eight years.
