The football career of Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has been an eventful one. For six years, fate took him even to the top European clubs, but sooner or later everything comes to an end, as well as the career of a goalkeeper.

The 41-year-old goalkeeper announced the end of professional appearances by posting a video on his Instagram account.

‘I am going to leave professional football. It's time to close a very important cycle in my life and start another phase that will certainly be just as successful,’ Bravo said in a statement.

The Chilean is best known for his performances at Barcelona and Manchester City. With the former, he triumphed twice in La Liga and was a Champions League winner in 2015. With the English team, he also won the local championship twice.

A special mention should be made of his career with the Chile national team, for which he made his debut back in 2004. Bravo in the national team finished performances at the mark of 150 matches, and even with two trophies: victory at the Copa América in 2015 and 2016.
