Man arrested for stalking WNBA star Caitlin Clark
WNBA star Caitlin Clark faced persistent harassment from 55-year-old Michael Lewis, who sent her sexually explicit and threatening messages on social media, reports TMZ.
Initially, when approached by police, Lewis dismissed his messages as mere fantasies and not serious threats. However, he continued sending messages even after receiving a warning and eventually traveled to Indianapolis, where Clark resides.
Concerned for her safety, Clark reported the harassment to authorities and adjusted her public appearance schedule due to fears stemming from Lewis’s behavior.
“I’ve been driving around your house 3x a day..but don’t call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse,” Lewis wrote in one of his disturbing messages.
Police apprehended Lewis after tracking his activities near Clark’s residence. He now faces stalking charges, classified as a fifth-degree felony. If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
