Mamoutou Kané appointed coach of Mali's U20 team
The Malian Football Federation has set a clear objective for the tactician, who is making his return to the bench.
This is not Mamoutou Kané's first stint on the bench of Mali's U20 national team. He has already held the position in the past, culminating in the Aiglons' victory at the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations. A few years later, he is back at the helm of this team.
He returns with a specific mission: to qualify Mali's U20 team for the Africa Cup of Nations. ‘Mamoutou Kané, known as Mourlé, is the new coach of Mali's Aiglons. His first objective will be to qualify the Aiglons for the U20 CAN, with the UFOA-A zone qualifiers to be held in Mali from 8 to 25 October 2026,’ said the Malian Football Federation in its official announcement of the coach's appointment.
Kané is a renowned coach in Mali. With Stade Malien, he won the championship and the National Cup last season.
