In their final match of the FIFA Club World Cup group stage, Mamelodi Sundowns faced Fluminense in a decisive encounter that would determine a playoff spot.

Sundowns needed nothing less than a win to progress to the next round, while a draw would be enough for the Brazilian side. Fluminense managed to get the result they needed. Despite Sundowns dominating possession and registering more shots on target, they couldn’t find the back of the net.

The match ended in a goalless 0–0 draw. After three group stage rounds, Mamelodi Sundowns finished with four points, Fluminense with five, and Borussia Dortmund with seven. As a result, Sundowns have been eliminated and will not feature in the Club World Cup playoffs.

Reminder: A video has been published showing Mamelodi Sundowns footballers singing and dancing before going out for their pre-match warm-up.
