Mame Thiam has etched his name into Senegalese football history in Turkey. With his goal in Eyüpspor’s 6-0 demolition of Demirspor during Matchday 31 of the Turkish Süper Lig, Thiam reached a landmark 68 career goals in the league.

This goal lifts the 32-year-old striker past Fenerbahçe legend Moussa Sow, who previously held the second spot among Senegal’s top scorers in Turkey with 67 goals.

Second All-Time, One Target Left

Now officially the second highest Senegalese scorer in Süper Lig history, Thiam has one final name ahead of him:

  • Mbaye Diagne – 76 goals
  • Mame Thiam – 68 goals
  • Moussa Sow – 67 goals

Thiam is just eight goals short of Diagne’s record. If he maintains his current form, he could break the all-time record as early as next season.

A Career Built on Consistency

Having previously featured for clubs like Fenerbahçe, Kasımpaşa, and Kayserispor, Thiam has become a well-known and reliable scorer in Turkey. His rise with Eyüpspor, currently fighting for promotion, has been a testament to his experience and goal-scoring instincts.

Mame Thiam is on the verge of becoming the greatest Senegalese scorer in Turkish football history, an accomplishment that has already been rewritten.
