Mamadou Sangaré wins the Marc-Vivien Foé Award
He finished ahead of Lamine Camara and Moussa Niakhate
The Malian midfielder succeeds Achraf Hakimi.
After a remarkable season with Lens, Mamadou Sangaré has been rewarded. He has been voted the best African player of the season in France’s Ligue 1. The Malian secured 313 points to finish ahead of his rivals, the Senegalese players Lamine Camara and Moussa Niakhate.
Mamadou Sangaré has been the standout revelation of Ligue 1. In his first season in the top flight of French football, the midfielder has scored three goals and provided four assists.
Sangaré becomes the first Malian to win the Marc-Vivien Foé Award, presented by RFI and France 24.
