Mamadou Sangare named Mali’s Player of the Year
He had an impressive season with Lens
The midfielder was honoured at the Mali Football Awards.
Mamadou Sangare made a name for himself during his first season in France’s Ligue 1 playing for Lens. The Malian international delivered solid performances that earned him the Marc Vivien Foe Award.
In Mali, these performances did not go unnoticed. Mamadou Sangare has been honoured in his home country. He was named Malian Player of the Year 2026 at the 3rd edition of the Mali Football Awards, held on Thursday 28 May in Bamako.
Mamadou Sangare also won the Coupe de France with Lens and impressed with the Mali Eagles during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
