Mamadou Koné extends his contract with FC Lorient until 2030
Having joined Lorient in the summer of 2025 from the Africa Foot Academy in Mali, Mamadou Koné is committing his long-term future to the Ligue 1 club.
The 19-year-old striker has extended his contract until June 2030, the French club announced on Thursday 15 October. This extension recognises the young player’s performances since his arrival at FC Lorient.
Since making his Ligue 1 debut this season, Mamadou Koné has already made six appearances and made a name for himself by scoring the winning goal against RC Lens (1–0) at the Bollaert a few weeks ago.
Thanks to this contract extension, Mamadou Koné will continue his rise through the ranks with Lorient, having already demonstrated his effectiveness with the reserve team last season.
In 24 National 1 matches, he scored nine goals, confirming his attacking qualities. This new contract will therefore provide further motivation for Mamadou Koné.
