Malian international Mamadou Sangare is set to move to the Premier League

The RC Lens midfielder could join Brentford during this summer’s transfer window.

Mamadou Sangare was impressive last season whilst playing for RC Lens in France. Having scored three goals and provided four assists in Ligue 1, the 24-year-old Malian midfielder has attracted the attention of several clubs.

However, Brentford are reportedly in pole position to secure the services of the Malian international, who won the 2026 Marc-Vivien Foe Award. The Bees are said to have reached an agreement in principle with RC Lens to sign Mamadou Sangare.

According to Foot Mercato, the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee estimated at 48 million euros, plus bonuses and a percentage of any future transfer fee. The deal is reportedly all but done, and the Malian international is expected to travel to England shortly to finalise his move.

However, despite the progress made in talks between Lens and Brentford, Crystal Palace are said not to have given up on the Malian international. The Eagles could table an offer for Mamadou Sangare in order to beat the competition.

Crystal Palace’s new head coach, Pierre Sage, is keen to sign the Malian player he previously managed at Lens.
