The Qatar national team pulled off a stunning surprise at the 2026 World Cup. The reigning Asian Cup champions salvaged a draw against Switzerland just seconds before the final whistle.
After conceding a goal from a controversial penalty, it seemed the European side had the win in the bag. However, they failed to extend their lead, and Julen Lopetegui's squad capitalized on one of their few chances: in the 90+4th minute, Huhi found the back of the net with a clinical finish.
Remarkably, this point is Qatar's first ever at a World Cup. In their debut tournament in 2022, the team lost all three group stage matches.
