On Friday, December 19, Bologna faced Inter in the Italian Super Cup semi-final to determine the tournament’s second finalist.
Inter took an early lead in the second minute, with Thuram scoring against Bologna. However, Bologna responded in the first half when Orsolini converted a penalty to level the score.
In the second half, both teams searched for opportunities but played more cautiously to avoid conceding. Regulation time ended 1-1, sending the match straight to a penalty shootout.
Inter struggled from the spot, with Bastoni, Barella and Bani all failing to convert. Bologna also missed twice, but ultimately prevailed 3-2 in the shootout to secure their place in the final.
