Having been injured during a Saudi Arabian King’s Cup match in March, Mahamadou Doumbia underwent surgery on Friday 3 April 2026. He underwent surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, Ittihad Club announced. The operation took place in Lyon, France, under the supervision of Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet. Following the surgery, the Malian player will begin his rehabilitation under the supervision of the surgical team and the medical staff at Ittihad Club.
