In the 30th round of the German Bundesliga, an incredible event took place. In Berlin, Union and Stuttgart delivered a true spectacle to the fans, scoring eight goals in the first 45 minutes.
By the 19th minute, the hosts were already leading 2-0, but the "Swabians" needed just ten minutes to catch up. At the end of the half, the opponents scored two more goals each, heading into the break with an astonishing 4-4 scoreline.
This match is sure to go down in Bundesliga history. According to the statistical portal Opta Franz, it is the first time in the tournament's history that as many as eight goals were scored in the first 45 minutes.
Interestingly, the teams made ten shots on target between them. Meanwhile, the expected goals (xG) was only 1.75 — 1.00 for Union and 0.75 for Stuttgart.
