Álvarez's agent keeps the door open for a possible Barcelona move
Forward Julián Álvarez has adapted swiftly to Spanish football with Atlético. The Argentine has drawn interest from other clubs, including Barcelona, and his agent Fernando Hidalgo has weighed in on the situation.
Details: Hidalgo stated that Álvarez is flattered by the praise from Barcelona players, but ultimately, everything depends on Atlético Madrid.
Quote: “Obviously, Julián admires Spanish clubs, having followed Leo Messi’s career since childhood... There probably aren’t many Argentinians who don’t feel a special connection to Barcelona, especially considering how Barça have played this season. He’s very grateful to many Barça players, because they have always spoken highly of him, like Cubarsí, and that motivates him.
They’ve received a lot of calls, but based on my conversations with the directors, Atlético’s stance is that Julián will stay next season. As of now, everything depends on Atlético. He’s very happy here. We’ll see how negotiations go. Football can change quickly, and good things will come,” Hidalgo told El Chiringuito.
