Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez has been called up to the national team for the first time since 2022.

The player from Brazilian club Grêmio will join the national team for the first time since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The 36-year-old forward scored 23 goals in all competitions for his club and provided ten assists.

It's worth noting that on November 17, Uruguay will play against Argentina, and on the 21st, they will face Bolivia. The team is currently in second place in the qualifying group after four rounds.

Suárez made his debut for the Uruguayan national team in February 2007 in a friendly match against Colombia, where he was sent off with two yellow cards. Despite missing the 2007 Copa America, Suárez quickly became a key player and, in the qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup, was the team's leader and top scorer alongside Diego Forlán, scoring 5 goals in 19 qualifying matches.

In total, Suárez has played 113 matches for the Uruguayan national team, scoring 59 goals and providing 33 assists.
