Luis Olivera Leaves Gimnasia y Tiro After Alleged Betting-Related Incident
Luis Olivera is no longer part of Gimnasia y Tiro’s squad. As reported by Que Pasa Salta, the defender parted ways with the club following an incident after their match against Arsenal. Club president Marcelo Mentesana said individuals were seen asking about financial matters concerning Olivera, prompting the player to admit personal issues affecting his ability to train and play.
Mentesana made it clear the club was not involved in any wrongdoing and that the claims were misdirected at a board member. He also confirmed that another player, Marcelo Herrera, is close to leaving due to personal matters.
“When personal issues outweigh football matters, the responsible choice is to act accordingly,” said the president. The club is working to resolve both cases swiftly to preserve team stability.
