Luciano Acosta has officially etched his name into MLS history. The Argentine midfielder scored a crucial goal in FC Dallas’ 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night, becoming just the seventh player in league history to tally at least 75 goals and 75 assists. Acosta now sits at 75 goals and 97 assists, joining an elite group that includes legends like Landon Donovan, Jaime Moreno, and Diego Valeri.

The historic goal came in the 37th minute, courtesy of a Petar Musa assist. It also marked Acosta’s third goal for Dallas since his high-profile move from FC Cincinnati earlier this year. “I’m very happy,” Acosta said after the match at Toyota Stadium. “At halftime, I saw the stat. It’s an honor to keep making history, and I’m glad I reached this milestone with Dallas.”

The 30-year-old joined FC Dallas in a deal worth up to $6 million, and early returns suggest the investment is paying off. Under new head coach Eric Quill, the team has climbed into the top half of the Western Conference and is gaining momentum.

Beyond club achievements, Acosta may soon reach a new milestone at the international level. He is close to completing the naturalization process that would make him eligible to represent the United States. “If we make it, I’d honestly be thrilled to play for the US national team,” he told La Nación. “It’s the country that gave me so much and where my daughter was born. I’d be proud to wear that shirt.”
