Lorient want to extend Bamba Dieng’s contract
With interest mounting, the French club want to keep the Senegalese player.
Bamba Dieng is having an exceptional season with FC Lorient in Ligue 1, to such an extent that he is attracting numerous suitors. With his contract due to expire this summer, Lorient’s management wants to avoid the Senegalese striker leaving on a free transfer. They want to extend his contract, says FC Lorient’s sporting director, Laurent Koscielny.
We’ll try to extend his contract. That doesn’t mean we’ll succeed. It also depends on what we’re capable of offering. If we can agree on a joint project spanning a few years, it will be with great pleasure. He’s a lad who embodies our values, with a great deal of humility. I remember he was sidelined a bit at the start because there was a desire for him to leave. He’s been very professional. It’s up to us to do what’s necessary so we can continue on this journey together.
FC Lorient’s top scorer this season, Bamba Dieng is also one of Ligue 1’s top scorers with nine goals.
