Egyptian and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is mourning the loss of his grandfather, Ahmed Abdel Aziz Al Bambi, who passed away on Monday morning, according to reports from local Egyptian media.

News of the passing emerged earlier on Monday, with family sources confirming that funeral arrangements are currently underway. The burial is expected to take place in Nagrig, Salah’s hometown in Egypt, where the football star has strong family roots.

The heartbreaking news was publicly confirmed by Salah’s wife, Rebab Salah, who shared an emotional message on social media.
