Liverpool is ready to attempt signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this summer, despite the team's star Mohamed Salah recently signing a new contract.

Salah signed a two-year deal with Liverpool, putting an end to speculation about his future. He now earns around £400,000 a week, which is £50,000 more than his previous contract.

Nevertheless, Liverpool will continue its search for new forwards. According to The Sun, the club has been impressed with Mbeumo's play, who, like Salah, is left-footed and primarily plays on the right flank. This season, Liverpool could allocate up to £200 million to strengthen the squad, and it is believed that the Cameroonian Mbeumo would cost around £50 million.

Mbeumo scored two goals in Brentford's 4-2 match against Brighton, increasing his tally to 18 goals this Premier League season — only Salah, Erling Haaland, and Alexander Isak have scored more.

Liverpool is close to winning the Premier League title and could become champions as early as Sunday if they defeat Leicester at King Power Stadium and Arsenal lose their match against Ipswich.
