Liverpool needs to win three matches to claim the Premier League title. Who are the 'Reds' opponents?
In an unexpected turn of events, Arsenal dropped points against Brentford in the 32nd round of the Premier League. The 'Gunners' managed to hold onto second place, but this slip gave Liverpool an opportunity to extend their lead. The 'Reds' will play their current round match only tomorrow.
Interestingly, the team led by Arne Slot needs to win just three more matches to secure the championship title without having to look over their shoulders at the competition.
To become champions of England for the twentieth time, the Merseysiders must defeat opponents, none of whom are currently in the top 14 of the Premier League.
Liverpool's schedule for the next three matches
- April 13: Liverpool vs West Ham United
- April 20: Leicester City vs Liverpool
- April 27: Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur
West Ham is currently in sixteenth place in the league, Leicester is nineteenth, and the Spurs are fifteenth.
If Liverpool drops points in any of these matches and Arsenal wins, the 'Reds' will have another chance at the beginning of May in a match against Chelsea. Notably, Liverpool is also set to face Arsenal on May 11.
It's worth remembering that the Merseysiders last won the championship title in 2020. Back then, the victory was also secured ahead of time, with an overall lead of 18 points over Manchester City, who finished as runners-up.
