Netherlands and Liverpool defender and captain Virgil van Dijk has expressed his desire to play in the 2026 World Cup.

Quote: "Yes, I want to play in another World Cup. I know I am still more than good enough.

I am the captain of Liverpool, a consistent factor, and I also feel great physically," the defender was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar was the first major tournament for the 33-year-old defender with the Dutch national team, where the "Oranje" reached the quarter-finals.

Recall: In August, van Dijk revealed that Liverpool has yet to offer him a new contract. Next summer, the experienced defender could become a free agent.
