Liverpool has learned the price tag on the coveted defender
With Joel Matip's move already confirmed and Virgil van Dijk's likely farewell, Arne Slot has to quickly patch up the holes in Liverpool's defence, and they already have some candidates for that at Anfield.
According to reports from A Bola, the Scousers have Sporting centre-back Gonzalo Inacio in mind, but this option for Slot will be far from cheap. Head coach of the Portuguese champion Ruben Amorim, who, incidentally, has also been linked with Liverpool, does not want to let the 22-year-old go.
The Sporting bosses are also unwilling to say goodbye to their defender, who estimate Inacio at 60 million euros. That should be the starting price for the Lisbon club to enter negotiations.
Other big-name English clubs are also bidding for the centre-back. Among others are Manchester United.
