Liverpool is reportedly interested in Bryan Mbeumo, a talented forward from Brentford, as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose future with the club is unclear. Salah, who is 32 years old, is in the last year of his contract, which ends in the summer of 2025. Recent reports say that talks about extending his contract have stopped.
According to Sport Bible, Liverpool will have to compete with Newcastle United for Mbeumo. Newcastle is also interested in signing the 25 year old Cameroonian. Brentford has set a price of £50 million for Mbeumo, who has been playing very well this season, scoring 8 goals and making 1 assist in 11 games.
Mbeumo, a striker or right winger, has stated that he would like to join a larger team. He paid €6.5 million to join Brentford in 2019 from Troyes, a French team, and his current deal expires in 2026 with a one-year extension option.
As part of their winter transfer ambitions, Liverpool is allegedly nearing an agreement to acquire French defender Loïc Badé from Sevilla in addition to Mbeumo. Alongside Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté, Badé, a 24 year old center defender, is anticipated to add depth to Liverpool's defense.
