The owners of Liverpool, the American company Fenway Sports Group (FSG), have long been exploring the possibility of acquiring the Spanish club. Moreover, contacts between the parties have already taken place – as MARCA has learned, FSG representatives visited the team's facilities as early as February. The purpose of the visit was to assess the club's potential as part of Fenway Sports Group's strategy to expand its football presence and apply its accumulated experience in sports management.
The holding is meticulously researching the market in search of clubs with a rich history and significant growth potential, and in Malaga, the investors have seen ideal conditions for its return to the elite of Spanish and European football.
