Liverpool made the trip to Prague to face Sparta in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16. Despite facing significant personnel issues, Jürgen Klopp's side was the clear favorite going into the matchup.

The visitors justified their status from the outset, netting three goals against the hosts in the first 45 minutes. Darren Nunes scored a brace, with Alexis MacAllister adding another from the penalty spot.

Interestingly, Nunes' first goal marked Liverpool's 1000th under Jürgen Klopp's tenure as manager.

The second half of the game essentially turned into a formality. Sparta managed to pull one back through a Connor Bradley own goal. However, the relentless Liverpool found the net twice more: Luis Diaz extended the lead with a devastating strike, and Dominic Szoboszlai sealed the match with a precise finish.

The return leg at Anfield will take place in a week's time on March 14th.
