Next season, Liverpool's right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will play for Real Madrid, but the exact timing of his debut for the new club remains up in the air.

Details: According to José Félix Díaz, Real Madrid is still pushing for the Englishman to join their squad in time for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. For this, the Spanish giants have offered Liverpool around €1 million. However, the Merseysiders are not willing to let their star defender leave ahead of schedule.

The issue stems from Liverpool's growing concern over Real Madrid's interest in Ibrahima Konate. The Premier League champions fear a repeat of the Alexander-Arnold scenario. The Frenchman's contract expires in the summer of 2026, and in a year's time, he could also make a free transfer to Madrid.

It's noted that for Liverpool, this isn't about money—it's a matter of pride.

Reminder: Yesterday, Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot was nominated for Premier League Manager of the Season.
