Liverpool became the second finalist of the Carabao Cup, setting a tournament record


Liverpool hosted Tottenham at Anfield in the Carabao Cup semi-final, with the second finalist of the competition determined in this match.
The Reds secured a confident 4-0 victory, dominating the game with four unanswered goals.
Liverpool took the lead in the 34th minute as Cody Gakpo opened the scoring after a pass from Mohamed Salah. Early in the second half, Salah added another assist, doubling the Reds' advantage.
Dominik Szoboszlai sealed the win with a goal from Connor Bradley’s assist, and Virgil van Dijk completed the final score of the match.
Furthermore, Liverpool is now the highest-scoring team in the history of the Carabao Cup, with 521 goals to their name.
The first finalist of the Carabao Cup is Newcastle, who defeated Arsenal yesterday. The final match will be played on 16 March.
