Liverpool are preparing a super transfer. Slot intends to leave Man United without a coveted player
With just over a week to go until the end of the transfer window, Liverpool still haven't made a single signing. But Arne Slot is set to blow up the market with a high-profile signing.
According to The Sun, the Reds are preparing an offer for Everton feuding player Jarrad Branthwaite worth £63million and bonuses.
The offer is an order of magnitude better than the latest offer from Manchester United, who are also intent on signing the defender. At Old Trafford, they were offering in the region of £50 million for the 22-year-old.
But so far, the Mancunians are not actively pursuing Branthwaite, as Manchester United have already signed two centre-backs in the summer transfer window, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.
It is thought that Branthwaite's purchase will be facilitated by the sale of Joe Gomez. Saying goodbye to him would free up transfer funds for the Everton defender.
