Lionel Messi has no plans to return to Barcelona as a player

Recently, Lionel Messi visited Camp Nou, sparking growing speculation that he might want to play at the renovated stadium. However, a permanent return should not be expected.

Details: According to Alfredo Martínez, Lionel Messi will not be returning to Barcelona as a player — that chapter is closed. He is bound by a long-term contract with Inter Miami.

He continues to take his career one season at a time, and if he does come back, it would likely be in an executive or sporting role rather than on the pitch.

Recently, we reported that Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted he neither regrets nor feels sad about Messi’s departure. According to Laporta, there is no conflict between him and Leo, but a return while he remains president is impossible.

Reminder: Lionel Messi personally approached the club’s management to make this visit happen.
