Lionel Messi has disclosed whether he will compete for Argentina in the 2024 Olympics
Lionel Messi is preparing for the 2024 Copa America tournament and has shared his plans regarding the football tournament at the 2024 Olympics.
As Messi told ESPN, he discussed the situation with coach Mascherano, and both understand the circumstances. Currently, Messi finds it difficult to think about the Olympics as the Copa America is ahead.
"It will be two, three consecutive months when I won't be at the club. Moreover, I'm not at the age to play everywhere anymore. I need to choose carefully. It would be too much to play in two tournaments back-to-back. I've been very lucky to participate in the Olympic Games, to win them together with Mascherano. It was a wonderful experience at the football level. The Olympics, the U-20 - memories that I will never forget," Messi stated.
He added that the Olympic Games are different from regular tournaments and wished young players heading to Paris to enjoy playing football.
Recall, Lionel Messi recently announced that Inter Miami will be his last club in his career. The legendary Argentine does not plan to move to any other club and will conclude his career in the USA.
