Former basketball player Lindsey Harding could become the first female coach in NBA history.

According to ESPN, Charlotte's management plans to hold negotiations with Harding in the near future. She is one of the leading candidates to receive a contract.

Currently, Harding coaches the Stockton Kings G-League team, which is the affiliate of the NBA's Sacramento Kings.

In the current G-League season, under Harding's leadership, the Stockton Kings reached the Western Conference Finals but lost to the Oklahoma City Blue.

During her playing career, Harding played for various clubs in the USA, Turkey, Russia, and Lithuania.
