Lille Close to Signing Nottingham Forest Winger Dilane Bakwa on Season-Long Loan
Lille are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign winger Dilane Bakwa on a season-long loan.
The Frenchman only joined Forest from Strasbourg in September last year in a deal worth around €35 million (£29.3 million). The Premier League club viewed Bakwa as one of Europe’s promising young talents at the time.
However, the 23-year-old struggled to establish himself at the City Ground during his first season, making just 24 appearances across all competitions and providing only two assists.
According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, Hull City also made an approach for Bakwa, but the winger has chosen Lille as his preferred destination.
“Hull City also made an approach, but Bakwa has chosen Lille and been given permission to formalise the move,” Jacobs reported.
Bakwa is now set to return to France as Lille look to complete his loan move and give him the opportunity to rediscover his best form.
