Seven hours before the Ligue 1 clash between Angers and Marseille, the Marseille squad's flight still couldn't take off due to severe weather conditions. The club pushed to have the game postponed, but an alternative solution was found.
Details: The possibility of Marseille missing the match altogether seemed real: their departure was scheduled for 10:45, but thick fog and low clouds over Angers made landing in the Maine-et-Loire region impossible.
In the end, a backup plan was put into action: land in Rennes, then travel over 100 kilometers by bus to Angers. Despite the inconvenience, this was the chosen solution.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) was informed of the situation and considered postponing the fixture—a scenario Marseille themselves saw as the most logical.
If Marseille manage to arrive without further issues, the match will kick off as scheduled—at 21:05 Central European Time.
Reminder: Roma have signed Marseille striker Robinho Vaz.
