Liga de Quito Stands Firm on Álex Arce: “The Offer Is Far Below Our Expectations”

Liga de Quito has once again turned down an offer for Paraguayan striker Álex Arce. According to the club’s sporting director Eduardo Álvarez, the latest proposal was significantly below their valuation and won’t even be considered unless the terms improve.
“The offer is too far off—we can't even begin discussions,” Álvarez told MachDeportes, declining to name the bidding club. “If a car is worth $40,000 and someone offers $15,000, there's simply no room for negotiation,” he added.
Arce and his agent have been informed of the situation, with Álvarez confirming that the club remains open to talks only if a serious offer is made. Arce was LDU’s standout performer in 2024, scoring 37 goals in 51 matches. However, 2025 has seen a notable dip in form, with just 6 goals in 17 appearances.
Despite rumored interest from Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and even the Premier League, Arce remains in Quito. “We’ll see if anything changes in the coming days,” Álvarez concluded.
