Liga de Quito Eyes Bolívar Coach Flavio Robatto as Next Manager

Liga de Quito is already seeking a new head coach following the departure of Pablo ‘Vitamina’ Sánchez earlier this week. According to Bolavip, the Ecuadorian club has contacted Flavio Robatto, currently managing Bolívar and competing in the Copa Libertadores.

Robatto, a familiar name in Ecuadorian football due to his stint as assistant coach at Barcelona SC from 2011 to 2015, has gained recognition in Bolivia for his work with Bolívar. This season, his team has recorded 7 wins, 1 draw, and 5 losses across league and Libertadores matches.

Though previously linked to clubs like Emelec, Robatto now stands out as one of the top candidates to lead Liga de Quito. However, he remains under contract with the Bolivian club, which could complicate negotiations.

Liga’s decision may hinge on their Libertadores campaign: if the club reaches the round of 16, it would unlock a larger budget for a high-profile coach. If not, a more modest hire is likely.

For now, former player Patricio ‘Pato’ Hurtado has taken over on an interim basis. But Robatto, with his Ecuadorian experience and competitive credentials, appears to be the leading contender to guide the capital club into its next chapter.
