The Libyan authorities would like to host the 2028 or 2032 AFCON.

Libya is making its ambitions known on the African football scene. The country is reportedly preparing its bid to host one of the forthcoming editions of the Africa Cup of Nations. Libyan officials are considering hosting either the 2028 or 2032 Africa Cup of Nations.

To support its bid, Libya plans to make eight stadiums available to win over the Confederation of African Football. Two of these stadiums stand out as the main venues for the future bid. These are the Tripoli International Stadium, with a capacity of 45,000, and the Benghazi International Stadium, which can accommodate 40,000 spectators.

It is worth noting that Libya hosted the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982. This was the only time the country has hosted the tournament.
