Liam Rosenior explains why Sánchez was left out of the starting line-up against Aston Villa
Chelsea are set to face Aston Villa, but goalkeeper Robert Sánchez will not feature from the start, and the reason for his absence has now been clarified.
Details: As Liam Rosenior himself explained, he does not designate a fixed first-choice goalkeeper and wants competition in every department of the squad.
Quote: “The way I work with goalkeepers — I don’t have a clear number one. I want competition in all areas, and Filip has waited very patiently for his opportunity, and I’ve given it to him tonight. Filip has trained very well,” Rosenior stated.
In Matchday 29 of the English Premier League, Aston Villa will host Chelsea on Wednesday, March 4, with kick-off set for 20:30 CET.
Reminder: Ahead of the Premier League Matchday 29 clash against Aston Villa, Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior provided an update on the injury status of the team’s leader, Cole Palmer.
