British Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has addressed when he plans to retire from the sport.
In a comment to Planet F1, Hamilton revealed that he has spoken with athletes who retired early and some of them regretted their decision. However, he acknowledges that he will eventually need to retire.
"Sometimes I feel uncertain about how much longer I can continue in Formula 1. I’ve spoken to athletes who retired early, and some expressed regret and wished they had competed for another year or two.
I need to race as long as I can. I will stop when I start to feel I am no longer fully prepared. At some point, I will need to stop," Hamilton shared.
Hamilton has been with Mercedes since 2013, winning six World Championships with the team and an additional title with McLaren.
In the upcoming season, the legendary Lewis Hamilton will leave Mercedes to race for Ferrari.
