Leicester bosses file lawsuit against helicopter manufacturer over president's crash
In October 2018, tragedy struck Leicester City when the club’s president, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and his entourage perished in a helicopter crash. Over six years later, the aftermath of the accident is still being addressed.
Details: According to The Telegraph, Srivaddhanaprabha's family has filed a £2.15 billion lawsuit against the Italian company Leonardo, the manufacturer of the helicopter involved in the crash. This figure is based on the revenue of King Power, Srivaddhanaprabha’s company, at the time of the accident.
Reports state that King Power’s annual revenue at the time was £2.5 billion, with annual profits of £237 million. The family claims that Srivaddhanaprabha’s entrepreneurial vision inspired their pursuit of justice.
Reminder: The helicopter crashed and burst into flames an hour after Leicester’s draw with West Ham in late October 2018. Onboard were Srivaddhanaprabha, two personal assistants, and two crew members.
